When I say, "Tracy's Dog Farm & Pet Store" I meant the farm, which I bought and later remodeled. The pet store is actually another name for the Dog Farm.ć
I first found the Chesapeake through a friend who was looking for a new dog. She told me about it. So I went to find out more. Here's what I found:
I've had my own home-based business for the past decade. And when I first started, I thought I'd be able to create and market products online, too. However, I ran into several problems along the way.
First, the quality of customer service was lacking. After I quit my job and started blogging full time, the customer service I received was not only poor but totally unacceptable. For example, in 2020 I bought a pair of boots for a friend that was made by a company in Pakistan.
In 2020, I began to have buyer's remorse on purchasing footwear goods from this company because they were defective. The shoes came with a rash guard, but when I took them off my dog got a nasty callus on her paw. Then a week later I received a nice letter from the company acknowledging my request for a refund but claiming I should have sent them the money in the first place.
They also sent me a free replacement pair because one of my dog's 'paws' got damaged. Even though my dog's paw was not even close to being as bad as theirs, the company sent me another pair. I then purchased a dog boot from this company because it was the cheapest one in my opinion.
A few months later, they had changed their policy by telling me that if the website address was no longer valid, I would have to pay shipping and handling. They would also charge me the cost of the footwear, which I'd already paid for, and if I decided to return the product, they would charge me the cost of shipping.
This isn't the only thing I've found, but what I've stated above is the most common problem I've encountered when selling anything online. There's nothing wrong with having a website if you can successfully market it effectively.
But if you are receiving poor customer service, then you have a problem. It's not the fault of the pet owner, but I wouldn't recommend this type of business.
On my website, I list the company name, their contact information, and whether or not they sell pets or services. I also provide a link to the company's website. I also recommend a few sites that I've used in the past that I am affiliated with.
I encourage you to take your time to do your research before choosing a company to help you start a business. You can find some very informative articles that will help you understand this subject, including customer testimonials. Once you decide to start a business, don't rush into starting the business and neglect your research.
My friend's dog has been coming to visit me ever since she moved in to get a new pet. When she first got her dog, she couldn't wait to introduce her to her friend. When I brought her the supplies for the dog, she asked me where I got the supplies and I explained what I did.
